Ottbergen

Ottbergen was one of the Deutsche Bundesbahn's last large steam-train railway depots. From 1967 it was home only to locomotives from the 44 series ("Jumbos"). Regular trains took passengers to Löhne, Braunschweig, Bad Harzburg, Göttingen and Paderborn. The 44's delighted railway lovers from all over the world up to 1976, pulling the heavy freight trains along uphill lines in the Weserbergland. None of this is left today.
